Sell Your Watch

Sell your Rolex Submariner.

The Submariner is the most traded watch there is, which means the pricing is well understood and there is no excuse for a vague answer. Give me the reference and the condition and I can be specific quickly.

What I Look At

What actually moves the number.

01

Ceramic or aluminium

The move to a ceramic bezel is the line that splits the modern market from the one before it. Both are strong. They are priced by different logic, and knowing which you have is the first step.

02

Date or no-date

They are close in list price and not always close in the secondary market. The no-date has a particular following. Tell me which you have rather than assuming it is a detail.

03

Bracelet stretch and clasp condition

The clasp and the links carry the wear on a watch that gets worn daily. It is one of the first places I look, and it is one of the honest reasons an estimate moves after the watch arrives.

This is not an exhaustive list. If yours is not on it, ask anyway. My working floor is around 10,000 dollars, with exceptions for exceptional pieces.

Questions

What people ask me about Rolex Submariner.

Does the green bezel really matter that much?

It has its own market and it behaves differently from the black bezel references. Whether that is up or down at any given moment changes, which is why I quote from what is happening now rather than from a number I remember.

Is the first number the number I actually get?

It is an estimate and I say so every time. I give you a range from the reference, the condition you describe, and what the market is doing that week. Once the watch is in my hands and authenticated, I confirm the final number. If it moves, I tell you exactly what moved it.

What if I do not like the final offer?

I ship it back to you, insured, at my cost. No obligation and no fee. That is the whole reason I would rather give you an honest range up front than a flattering one.

How do I get paid?

Wire transfer, sent the same day we agree on the final number. I confirm your banking details with you on a second channel before anything moves.

Ready When You Are

Send me the reference and a few photos.

I will come back with a range and the reasoning behind it. Every number is an estimate until I authenticate the watch in hand.
