Panerai values turn on the PAM number more than almost any other brand, because the same case shape covers an enormous range of movements, dials, and limited runs. Give me the PAM and I can place it right away.

What actually moves the number.
The PAM number is the whole identity
It is on the paperwork and usually on the caseback. Two watches that look nearly identical across a room can be a long way apart once I have the PAM.
In-house versus supplied movements
The transition to in-house calibers split the catalogue, and the market treats the two eras differently. Neither is automatically worth more. It depends on the specific reference.
Straps and the original box
Panerai shipped with extra straps and a tool, and complete sets do better. If you have the spares, include them. They are worth more attached to the sale than in a drawer.

Where is the PAM number?
On the certificate and the box label, and engraved on the caseback of most modern references. If you cannot find it, a clear photo of the caseback and the dial is usually enough for me to identify the watch.
Is the first number the number I actually get?
It is an estimate and I say so every time. I give you a range from the reference, the condition you describe, and what the market is doing that week. Once the watch is in my hands and authenticated, I confirm the final number. If it moves, I tell you exactly what moved it.
What if I do not like the final offer?
I ship it back to you, insured, at my cost. No obligation and no fee. That is the whole reason I would rather give you an honest range up front than a flattering one.
How do I get paid?
Wire transfer, sent the same day we agree on the final number. I confirm your banking details with you on a second channel before anything moves.
